How Triad Rocks the Hawk
WASHINGTON, D.C., April 11, 2008

Monday morning – It's celebration time.  The Caps are in the playoffs and the DC Police Hockey team beat the Secret Service in the championships over the weekend!!!

Tuesday morning – It's a typical day in the office until the e-mail from Cheri arrives.  DC101 is doing a "Rock the Hawk" event.  Friday morning the first 45 people to show up get tickets and a free "hawk" do for that night's game.   Triad offers to make a donation to the favorite charity of anyone willing to go.  Nate and I decide we will be more than happy to go hawk our hair.  Katie will go as the official Triad photographer.

Plans were already in the mix to shave my head for my six-year-old niece, Faith, who was having a brain tumor removed Wednesday morning.  There's no better way to teach a child that hair does not define who we are and it will grow back then to send her my hair and pictures of my shaved head.

Friday morning – It's the crack of dawn and we arrive at the DC101 station.  To our dismay it turns out people camped out the evening before and there was a slim chance we'd be one of the first 45 people.  We patiently wait with an unsavory group of people only to be turned away.  We couldn't even get a free "hawk" after that long wait.  Now it's not like there were a whole lot of women there to get a hawk.  Two!  And I was the only one rocking a Caps jersey.  Go Donald Brashear!  You'd think they could have worked something out.

Triad to the rescue!  We return to the office somewhat defeated but determined to get our hawks.  A hair appointment at PR @ Partners is made for Nate and me.  Rhonda has the honor of sculpting our hair into hawk masterpieces.  Not only did our hair turn out INCREDIBLE but we were surprised with tickets from our bosses.

Also, my niece made it through surgery with flying colors and is on the road to recovery!

So to all out there know this is true…TRIAD ROCKS THE HAWK HARDCORE!
