PATH: Making Decisions that Work Client: Georgetown University Medical Center's Lombardi Cancer Center and the Ruttenberg Cancer Center at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York This project was funded as part of a grant from the National Cancer Institute and is being used as part of a study for women who have received a positive test result for carrying an alteration to BRCA1 or BRCA2 susceptibility genes, where a mutation exists that increases their risk of developing breast cancer over their lifetime. This CD-ROM was developed to help educate women about their breast cancer risk and options for managing that risk. In addition, the program includes an interactive decision aid that helps women evaluate the impact of different risk-management options on their lives. |
